There is no need to talk about how Facebook is such a popular social networking site, everyone knows that! Because it is so popular there are many things people would like to do with their Facebook information. Using Facebook information may be for personal reasons or as part of a marketing campaign or networking campaign. No matter the reason for displaying your Facebook status, the important thing is that it’s possible to do in just six easy steps.
You will learn how you can get your Facebook status to show up on WordPress blogs that block plug-in installation. To get your Facebook status showing, you will need to use the WordPress RSS widget in conjunction with Facebook’s status feed. Here we go:
- Log into your Facebook account and click on your profile tab; find Mini Feed and click See All.
- Look under the Mini Feed and click Status Stories and the My Status
- Copy My Status link because this is what you will use in your WordPress blog.
- At this point you need to log into the admin area of your WordPress blog. The URL address to log into your WordPress blog looks like this: http://www.yourblogname.com/wp-admin. You will need your username and password to log in.
- When you are in the WordPress administration sections go to the Appearance tab on the left and choose Widget, then choose RSS and make it an addition to your blog.
- Remember the URL you saved from the Facebook status? You now need to enter that URL in the “Enter the RSS feed URL here:” section of the RSS box. Upon completing this step your Facebook statuses should be visible on your WordPress blog.
Following these six simple steps will put Facebook statuses on your blog. Many people like to include their statuses to give their blog a more personal feel and to give another way of letting visitors know that you have a Facebook page.
