If you have an affiliate account with various sites the idea is to make money at it. You should promote your affiliates by many means and using WordPress is a great way to do so. WordPress is easy to install on your site and is easy to use. Plus, you have the added benefit of having WordPress be easily customizable so you can use plugins and tools specifically designed around your particular theme or specifically designed to help you promote your affiliates.

Paying for advertising by using a pay per click service such as Google AdWords is one way to promote affiliates but it does take some financial investment. You can, however, use lower cost keywords in conjunction with your blog posts to generate income.

Use blog posts to describe products that you find useful and have affiliate associations with. You can then add your affiliate link into the post so that readers clicking on it will generate a sale for you. Product descriptions that flow into “how to” articles can be useful in driving traffic to your site and encouraging users to click on your affiliate links.

Use video tutorials or pictures in your posts where you demonstrate the product in a more visual manner. This is not only useful but entertaining and you can add your affiliate links to these posts so that users click on them.

Write reviews of products and encourage users to post comments regarding their own experiences. If you are recommending a product, users can click on your affiliate link for more details and to purchase.

You can design your site using banner ads that feature your affiliate links along with images. This is slightly more eye catching and a way that will help you generate clicks and subsequent sales.

Make it easy for others to repost your content especially on social networking sites. If you have quality content that people will pass on you can expand your network exponentially by having access to social networking like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. You not only get exposure to your direct visitors but also to their friends and friends of their friends and so on.

Create a top list and use user comments as well as your own reviews to determine ranking of products within a particular niche. Each product will have its own affiliate link and you can generate income from your most highly recommended product all the way to your lowest.
